The No.3 and 4 seeds in the juniors division of the 74th season of University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) basketball competitions forced a rubber match against their higher seeded opponents.
The NU Bullpups relied on Ralph Napa (17 points), Raphael Atangan (14 points) and 2 other twin digit scorers to rout the favored De la Salle Zobel Junior Archers,66-52. Gabriel Reyes paced the No.2 seeded Archers with 14 points in a losing cause.
4th seed Ateneo Blue Eaglets beat top seed FEU Baby Tamaraws, 62-53, in the other Final 4 pairing. Antonio Asistio (14 points) led a balanced Ateneo attack to prevent the Baby Tams to go to the finals outright. Jerie Pingoy led the Baby Tams with 19 points.
The win or go home matches will be held on Tuesday.
