The National University Bulldogs and the Far Eastern University Tamaraws won their respective match ups yesterday to remain at the upper half of UAAP Season 75 Senior Basketball standings. NU routed the slow-starting UP Fighting Maroons to bounce back from a tough loss to Ateneo last Sunday. FEU meanwhile needed summon their excellent endgame abilities again as they survived a close game against a hard fighting Adamson squad.

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and Emmanuel Mbe combined for 37 points to lead the Bulldogs to its second victory of the season. NU was only leading by six after the first ten minutes of play. They stepped on the gas in the second period by scoring 26 points and limiting the Maroons to just 8. NU was limited to 10 points in the 3rd quarter via a 1-3-1 by UP, the Maroons, however, failed to capitalize as they themselves just scored 8 points for the quarter. UP was able to outscore NU 24-15 in the final period but the early lead the Bulldogs was just too big for UP to have a chance at winning. Mike Silungan, Jett Manuel, and Jelo Montecastro scored in double figures for the losing squad.
In the second game, Terence Romeo had a big game of 23 markers, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals to help FEU preserve its perfect record in Season 75. The Tams were lucky that Roider Cabrera missed a potential game-tying three point shot at the end of the game to come out with 65-62 win. The 3 point margin is the biggest margin of victory for FEU who opened the season with a 1-point win over UST and a 2-point win over DLSU. Season 73 MVP RR Garcia contributed 12 points for FEU while Allen Etrone was Adamson’s top scorer. Prolific guard Alex Nuyles was limited to 2 points.
FEU now leads the standings at 3-0. They are the lone undefeated team left in the season. The NU Bulldogs created a three-way tie for 2nd at 2-1 with their win against UP. UP and Adamson fell to 0-2. Both teams joined UE at the bottom of the standings.
