Cagayan de Oro City – The Cebu Niños were able to beat the Misamis Oriental Meteors in Game 4 of the Tournament of the Philippines best of five finals. The game ended with a margin of 1 point 73-72 in favor of the visiting Cebu squad. A victory by the Meteors would have crowned them as the first ever Tournament of the Philippines Champion. The series will now shift back to Cebu for an epic Game 5.
The M.Lhullier Kwarta Padala Niños relied on the seldom-used Mark Ababon to rally from a 69-72 deficit with only a few minutes left in the game. Ababon was sent it because ace guard Stephen Padilla fouled out of the game. He scored the final 4 points of the game.
As usual, the home team was led by Patrick Cabahug and Reed Juntilla who combined for 33 points.
caloycomment: Well, my predictions were proven right that Cebu can win at the Meteors home court. Game 5 will definitely be a game to watch. If you are not planning anything, you can go to the Cebu Coliseum to root for your favorite team. It will be a great ending to a heckuva season. I hope that the TOP will have more seasons and I really hope that the players from these teams will have a chance to strut their wares in the PBA. Game 5 prediction: Cebu by 5 points.
