After losing a chance for an outright Round of 16 berth, Rubilyn Amit won 3 straight elimination matches to reach the semifinals of the 2010 Women’s World Ten Ball Championships. Amit is the lone contender left from the host country, the Philippines.  She beat Joanne Ashton of Canada, Han Yu of China, and Line Kjoersvik of Norway in succession to make it to the final 4 in this tournament that offers $20,000 to the winner. She will now face  Korean Ga-Young Kim.

caloycomment: Amit has shown that she is one of the best in the world and I hope she will win it all.

10-29 Update: Jasmine Ouschan of Austria beat Korea‘s Ga-Young Kim to become the new queen of 10 ball.  Ouschan has always been the crowd favorite beat Ga, the woman who blocked Rubilyn Amit’s bid for a second straight title.
