3 PBA Stars will reinforce PH Asiad Basketball Squad

The Smart-Gilas Philippine National Teams heads to China to acclimatize and prepare for the Guangzhou Asian Games. In tow for the Rajko Toroman– coached squad are three PBA stars. Kelly William of Talk N’ Text Tropang Texters, Asi Taulava of PoweradeTigers, and Solomon Mercado of Rain or Shine will don the national colors to reinforce a well-trained team of young basketball stars. This is the current roster:

Marcus Douthit who was recently given Filipino citizenship by the Philippine Senate will not be able to join the team for the Asiad but he will reinforce the young core in the future tournaments and its quest to capture an olympic berth for the country.

caloycomment: I am hoping for them to reach the medal round.  They have a strong line-up but the Asian powerhouses like Iran and host China will be sending really formidable teams. A bronze medal would be a great achievement.
