Blue and White is the color of the Philippine Collegiate Champions League Finals after the “birds” of the UAAP beat separate opponents yesterday. The Adamson Falcons continued its cinderella run after beating the De la Salle Green Archers 67-59. The Falcons also defeated another UAAP powerhouse the FEU Tamaraws to suprisingly barge into the Final 4. In the La Salle game, the team was led by Alex Nuyles who had 15 points and towing to others to score in double figures. Sam Marata was the only Green Archer who scored more than 10 points.
Ateneo de Manila routed CESAFI champions University of Cebu 74-54. While they were not able to contain big man Junmar Fajardo (30 points, 15 rebounds), they limited his teammates to a measly 24 points. Ateneo is again in the finals and are favored to win another PCCL crown.
caloycomment: It is an interesting match-up in the finals although many were drooling about the prospects of having an Ateneo-La Salle Finals. Too bad, Adamson played spoilers again. Will the kings of UAAP rule again or will it be a fairy tale ending for the Falcons. Interesting story lines makes this an interesting game. Watch it in Studio 23. 😉
