OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill.- ICTSI–Philippine team member Dottie Ardina fell short in her final match against Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand in the 63rd U.S. Girls Junior championship. The 15 year old Thai golfer won the match 2 and 1 over the multi-titled Filipina.
Ardina was ahead by one shot in the morning round but was not able to sustain her form. Jutanugarn evened in the first hole of the afternoon and went ahead in the fourth hole. She pulled away when Ardina bogeyed the 12th hole. Ardina was only 3 out of 13 birdie putts.
Dottie Ardina made it to the finals by beating Yu Lui of the People’s Republic of China in the semifinals and Arkansas‘ Summar Roachell in quarterfinals. Ariya Jutanugarn is the stroke play low medallist of the tourney and has recently won the 2011 Rolex Girls Junior Championship.
