Hsinjhuang Stadium, New Taipei City, Taiwan– Malaysia tried to keep up with the Smart-Gilas that played without leading scorers Marcus Douhit and JV Casio. They were quite successful for over 2 quarters even leading 38-37 at one point in the third quarter. The Philippine Team suddenly woke up and started a 24-2 game-ending blitz to lead 61-40.  Smart-Gilas coasted as the match ended 86-68. 5 players led by Mac Baracael reached double figures in scoring.

It was good recovery after suffering their first loss last night against Jordan. The Philippines is now 3-1 while the Malaysians (0-4) remain winless. The Gilas will next face the undefeated South Korea.

Philippines 86 — Baracael 14, Tiu 14, Lassiter 13, Aguilar 13, Lutz 12, Ababou 6, Barroca 5, Ballesteros 4, Hontiveros 3, Taulava 2.
