UAAP Stat Leaders as of August 15, 2011

15 08 2011

The UAAP Teams just had their first games in the second round over the weekend and here are the current statistical leaders for UAAP Season 74 Basketball:

Parks still lead the scoring in the UAAP

Scoring:

Bobby Ray Parks, NU 17.3 PPG

Jeric Fortuna, UST 16.0

RR Garcia, FEU 15.4

Ray Parks continue to lead the scoring followed by high scoring guards in Fortuna and Garcia. Parks was able to increase his stats after averaging 20.5 points in 2 games against the UE Red Warriors.Fortuna has been averaging 17 points per game in his last 5 games. Garcia is averaging 16.3 in his last 3 games. Expect all 3 to be in this list in the coming weeks since they have been the most consistent scorers for their teams all season long.

Abdul, the Tiger's Super Rebounder

Rebounding:

Karim Abdul, UST 9.9

Aldrech Ramos, FEU 9.5

Greg Slaughter, ADMU 9.0

Karim Abdul is a monster at the boards. He has been getting double digit rebounds in 6 straight games.  He grabbed 14 rebounds against UP in their first round encounter. Ramos was able to get 18 rebounds against Ateneo in FEU’s final game in the first round. Greg Slaugter averaged 10.5 rebounds in 2 games against rival FEU. This season features a lot of big men who are capable of winning the rebounding title expect more names to crop up in the coming weeks.

Monfort, the top facilitator so far

Passing:

Emman Monfort, ADMU 4.5

Jeric Fortuna, UST 3.8

LA Revilla, DLSU 3.6

Monfort has been leading this stat all year long and having weapons like Ravena, Slaughter, and Salva will most likely keep him on top until the end of the season. Fortuna averaged 5 assists in his last 2 games. Revilla had an 8-assist performance against UST to close their first round campaign.

La Salle's Revilla still leads the "thefts" department

Steals:

LA Revilla, DLSU 1.8

Emman Monfort, ADMU 1.6

Revilla still leads in this department but he only have 2 steals in the last 3 games. Monfort had 4 steals in Ateneo’s victory over UST and NU in the first round. Many players are waiting in the wings to grab the steals leadership, it all depends on who will step up their games in the final stretch of the season.

Adamson's Manyara gives a lot of players a hard time

Blocks:

Lionel Manyara, ADU 2.8

Ifeanyi Mbah, UP 2.3

Greg Slaughter, ADMU 2.3

Giants are expected to rule this category and this season marked the presence of several giants in the league. Adamson’s Manyara had 7 big blocks in his game against UP. Former leader Mbah is only averaging 1 bpg in his last 2 games. Slaughter is averaging 2.7 bpg in his last 3 games. Expect this 3 big men to battle it out for the blocking supremacy of the season.

League Standings:

Ateneo 8-0

Adamson 6-2

UST 4-4

FEU 4-4

DLSU 4-4

NU 3-5

UP 2-6

UE 1-5
