After being surprisingly beaten by 2 lower ranked in the first round, the Far Eastern University Tamaraws and the Adamson Falcons made sure that lightning will not strike twice as they respectively beat the UP Fighting Maroons and the NU Bulldogs.

The Tamaraw barely survived the upset ax as they relied on Season 73 MVP RR Garcia to rally in the final minutes of the game and win 59-53 against the stunned UP 5. UP was leading the whole game but crumbled in the crucial moments of the game. Mike Gamboa fell in love with 3-point shot and became the goat of the game. Garcia finished 25 points and singlehandedly outscored the Maroons in the final canto. UP was led by rookie and former Ateneo Blue Eaglet Paolo Romero who had 17 points.

In the second game, Adamson (7-2)blasted NU 68-53 (3-6) and solidify their number 2 ranking in the league. It is the 4th straight victory. Alex Nuyles, Janus Lozada, Roider Cabreara, and Eric Camsom scored in double figures to lead a potent balanced attack by the Falcons. UAAP Season 74 top scorer Ray Parks exploded for 31 points for NU but failed to get any support from his teammates.

Games on Saturday will pit DLSU against UE, and Ateneo against UST.
