Cebu City, Philippines – The Aboitiz Invitational 2011 held at Cebu Country Club is starting to look like an all-Davaoeno show as men from Davao occupy the top 3 places. Arnold Villacencio opened with a 69 to lead other bets in the opening round of this Asian Development Tour leg. A fellow golfer from Davao in Marvin Dumandan occupy the 2nd spot with an even par-70.
Fellow Davaoenos Jay Bayron, Cassius Casas, Edgar Ababa and Elmer Salvador is in the 3rd spot along Antonio Asistio with 71. Tony Mansuwan of Thailand and Jonathan Moore of USA are the best placed foreigners scoring 72 in the first round of this $65,000 event.
Many struggled in the greens although the golfers from Davao are feeling at home in Cebu. People should expect better scores in the coming rounds as the Pros start adjust their games with the course.
