Tim Cone Leaves Alaska

2 09 2011

After 22 years. Tim Cone bids farewell to the Alaska PBA Franchise.  Cone cited that he wanted to explore new horizons and challenges. The Alaska management headed by Wilfred Steven Uytengsu appointed long-time assistant Joel Banal as Alaska Aces’ coach for the 37th PBA season.

Tim Cone won 13 titles with Alaska and bagged a grandslam in 1996. The departure was not much of a surprise as rumors have been floating a few days ago about Tim Cone joining another PBA franchise. So far, there are no announcements yet for a Tim Cone hiring. We will find out more about the legendary coach’s future in the next few days.
