Men’s Middleweight (-75Kg)

Ryota MURATA  vs  Esquiva FALCAO

Murata is one of the biggest revelations in the tournament as he beat reigning champion Abbos Atoev of Uzbekistan in the first round of Baku 2011. He will face Esquiva Falcao Florentino of Brazil.

Ievgen KHYTROV  vs  Bogdan JURATONI 

Ukraine’s Khytov faces Romanian Juaratoni for the other spot in the middle weight finals. This is the most successful big tournament for both boxers.

Men’s Light Heavyweight (-81Kg)

Egor MEKHONTSEV (1)  vs  Julio la CRUZ

Egor MEKHONTSEV of Russia has  a chance to defend his gold medal in Milan 2009. He will face Cuba‘s Julio de la Cruz Peraza, who had a very surprising tournament so far.

Adilbek NIYAZYMBETOV  vs  Elshod RASULOV (7)
NIYAZYMBETOV is peaking at the right time as he had abbreviated wins in his last 2 bouts. Uzbekistan’s Rasulov is seeded 7th and he is the reigning Asian Games Champ and the silver medallist in  Milan 2009.

Men’s Heavyweight (-91Kg)

Oleksandr USYK (8)  vs  Siarhei KARNEYEU

The heavyweight semis will feature a match between 2009 World Championship silver medal winner Oleksandr Usyk of Ukraine (lost to  MEKHONTSEV ) and Siarhei Karneyeu of Belarus, a quarterfinalist in the EU Boxing Championships in Ankara earlier this year. 

Teymur MAMMADOV (3)  vs  Xuanxuan WANG (10)
The other heavy weight pairing will be between 2 seeded fighters. 3rd seed  Teymur Mammadov  of host country Azerbaijan is the reigning European Champion. He will slug it out with China’s Wang Xuanxuan, the 2011 Asian Confederation Boxing champ.

Men’s Super Heavyweight (+91Kg)

Anthony JOSHUA  vs  Erik PFEIFER

England’s Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua clinched a medal and olympic spot after upsetting Italian World and Olympic champion Robert Cammarelle in the quarterfinals, 15-13. He is will face German Erik Pfeifer who is competing in his second world championships. Pfeifer beat 2009 Milan Silver medallist Roman Kapitonenko in the round of 16, 22-14.

Ivan DYCHKO  vs  Magomedrasul MEDZHIDOV  (2)


The other pairing pits Kazakhstan’s Ivan Dychko, 2010 Asian Games Silver medallist againt the controversial 2nd seed Magomedrasul MEDZHIDOV  of the host country.
