AIBA World Boxing Championships Baku 2011 Light-flyweight: Zou and Shin win; Barriga gets free trip to London

The light flyweight semifinal matches are finished. Chinese boxer Zou continued his domination in the lightest weight level as he beat Russian David Ayrapetyan, 15-8. The victory means that Filipino pug Mark Anthony Barriga gets an olympic slot since AIBA awards the top 10 boxers in the lighter weight divisions. Shin Jong of Korea won the other semifinal bout and he will face Zou in the gold medal match.

It amazes me to discover that this is the only site that mentions Barriga getting a slot in the London Olympics. Why is this news not widely circulated?

Coz he was a lucky loser, he made it to the Olympics after his tormentor Zou Shiming made it to the Finals. Some news outfits maybe overlooked the fact that 10 boxers qualify for the lighter weight levels (the 8 quarterfinalists and losers in the round of 16 to the eventual finalists)
