Pangasinan is one of the breeding grounds of the best of Philippine cycling. It was no surprise that Stage 11 was a 1-2-3 even 4 finish by Pangasinan-born cyclists. SEA Games pursuit king Alfie Catalan won the final sprint followed by kababayans Arnel Quirimit and Ferdinand Pablo. It was the second straight day that a member of the Philippine Army/RC Cola team bagged lap honors after John Mier won Stage 10. The biggest loser of the day was RP team member George Oconer who finished 54th on the day after suffering a flat tire in Camiling, Tarlac. Oconer lost his long held yellow/gold jersey. He was dislodged by young Pangasinense Ronald Oranza who switched places with him from being 4th in the young rider classification. The other jersey wearers kept their rankings including red jersey holder Mark Galedo. The Ronda teams will be resting today to prepare for the grueling trek to Baguio City.
