Piccio is now in the quarterfinals after beating Minami Levonowich of Texas in the Round of 32 (1 up) and Ohio‘s Samantha Swinehart in the Round of 16 (2 and 1). She will next face 54th seed Courtney McKim of North Carolina.
There were originally 6 Filipinas who qualified for the match play portion. Princess Superal lost in the Round of 64 to Isabelle Kane. Dottie Ardina got eliminated by Shannon Lubar in the Round of 32 (2 and 1). Jayvee Agojo was also booted out in the Round of 32 after falling to Susannah Grunden ( 2 and 1). Swineheart prevent an all-Filipino duel in the round of 16 as she defeated Lovelynn Guioguio (1 up) in their Round of 32 pairing. Sarah Ababa lost to Birmingham, Alabama‘s Hannah Collier in the round of 16 match-up (3 and 2).
