2012 PBA Governor’s Cup Semifinals: Texters rout Bolts

The battle between the two MVP (Manny V. Pangilinan)- owned squads turned out to be a rout as the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters easily beat the eliminated Meralco Bolts, 108-84.  The Texters who need to sweep all its remaining matches to have a shot for a finals berth, got hot from the the get go and simply overwhelmed the Bolts.  Talk ‘N Text were already leading by 15 after 12 minutes.

The lead ballooned to 21 at the half and 26 by the end of the third period.  In the end, it was a 24 point margin of victory for the Tropang Texters. Ranidel de Ocampo had 24 points and Japeth Aguilar played one of his best scoring games in the PBA with a double-double performance by scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 boards.  Mario West led the Bolts with 21 points.  The Texters raised their record to 6-5 (1-1 semifinals).  Their last 3 opponents would be Petron, Ginebra, and Rain or Shine.

Quarters: 31-16, 64-43, 89-63, 108-84
