TOP: MisOr Meteors a game away from TOP Championship

12 09 2010

Misamis Oriental beat Cebu at home for a 2-1 lead in the best of five Championship series of the Tournament of the Philippines. With another victory they will be the first Champion for the tournament co-organized by the Philippine Basketball League and Liga Pilipinas.

The MisOr Meteors were led by Patrick Cabahug and Ex-Pro Reed Juntilla who scored 23 and 19 points respectively. Stephen Padilla led the MLKP Cebu Niños by scoring 16 points.

The game was close with Cebu coming back from a 12 point deficit to take the lead 66-64 in the 4th quarter but cannot hold it for long. Cabahug and Juntilla waxed hot to ensure that the home team will get the victory. Coach Jun Noel gave all his players the credit for this Game 3 victory.

caloycomment: These 2 teams are definitely the best “amateur” teams in the land and I am hoping that the Niños can win Game 4 to bring the series to an epic Game 5.
