Coach Olsen Racela revealed the members of the Energen Pilipinas Under-16 Youth Team that will compete in the Fiba Asia U16 tournament in Nha Trang City, Vietnam. These are the members of the team:
- Henry Asilum (Sacred Heart-Ateneo de Cebu)
- Hubert Cani (National University)
- Rev Diputado (San Beda)
- Kyles Lao (Xavier)
- Jay Javelosa (Reedley International)
- Earl Murphy (Ateneo)
- Daryl Pascual (Arellano)
- Tomas Ramos (Ateneo)
- J-Jay Alejandro (Mapua)
- Prince Rivero (National University)
- Andrei Caracut (San Beda)
- Isaac Go (Xavier)
- Nic Dalafu (Victory Christian International)
- Jordan Heading (Morrison High School)
The 14 stalwarts will face Indonesia in October 19 then Vietnam in October 20. They are expected to win Group D and compete for the top places in tournament. The finalists in this year’s tournament will go to Lithuania to represent Asia in the 2012 Fiba U17 World Championship.
In 2009, the Nokia Pilipinas U16 team finished 4th with a team bannered by now-UAAP Srs. players Kiefer Ravena, Von Pessumal, Jeron Teng, Michael Tolomia, and Paolo Romero.
